this is almost totally wrong.

"lover may actually share a genetic history" the chance of an unrelated partner carrier of the recessive allele of the same condition is infinitesimal compared to a sibling. in a blood relative the chance of the same recessive allele being present and passed to offspring is exponentially greater. i can't remember the stats off the top of my head, but it is a significant difference.

Its significant compared to completely unrelated partners, but the chances are still pretty small percentage wise. Genetic problems usually will start to appear after a few generations down the line, or the Habsburgs would had noticed the crap that was happening with their bloodlines sooner. Instead they were rulers for more then a hundred years all over Europe inbreeding all the way to Charles II. (Edit: of Spain, just to make sure)

Actually, the risk is smaller than what you're making it out to be, genetically the risks inherent tend to almost always be genetic disorders or abnormalities already present in the siblings genes. The risk of inbreeding is that those abnormalities tend to be more pronounced or riskier since both parents have those risk factors while an unrelated mate may not. In the history of the earth inbreeding has always been a thing and chances are any spouse or lover may actually share a genetic history, it wouldn't be that surprising with how humans spread. This is especially true in places where incest was a cultural norm, though in those same cultures the risk of genetic deformities was more pronounced, unfortunately, but those were over generations of inbreeding.

The fact is that hooking up with your sister may be weird but it's unlikely to really cause a significant risk to the children produced, especially if those children do not engage in incestual relations. A bit of shared blood never hurt anybody, the bigger risk is in stagnation which happens over generations of inbreeding and will most definitely lead to horrible complications unless the bloodline is refreshed.

from a purely biological/genetic point - that is incorrect. these is not insignificant risk of genetic abnormalities present even in the F1 cross (i.e. the 1st generation). this risk then multiplicatively increases over subsequent generations if interbreeding continues.

there is a scientific reason (in addition to social/moral objections) as to why marriage/children between siblings and even first cousins is illegal in many countries.

Meh, this one just didn't feel worth the read. Characters are very one dimensional, I didn't particularly empathize with any of the characters because they all felt so fake.

I thought it was pretty good. It's only natural for people to get weirded out by the subject matter. It's just worth saying that though we may not have these kinds of feelings towards our own siblings, circumstances and feelings aren't the same for everyone. It's bad enough the misconceptions about incest lead people to believe the craziest things and get particularly heretical about it. The odds of something bad happening between a brother and a sister is about as normal as any other couple. It's only when you keep that trend going for multiple generations without bringing in new genetic material does any actual danger begin to present itself.

Wow.. I forgot how this had ended. behold the incest win? It's about damn time at least once that the little sister finally got her brother. Without resorting to the cliche "not really related" aspect.

well one of the mangas that was spared by batoto's ban list :D
